SportSafe

The SportSafe Program

British Columbia’s SportSafe program was introduced in 1998 to create a safer environment for kids in sport. SportSafe is designed to address safety issues such as harassment and abuse, violence, and sport and recreation injuries.

Sport BC (British Columbia’s federation for amateur sport organizations) administers the SportSafe harassment and abuse program, training workshops and sport’s harassment and abuse investigation and adjudication process. (For more information on training, policies and procedures for harassment and abuse prevention, phone 604 737-3005 or visit their website).

SportSafe resources help clubs, individuals, coaches, volunteers and organizations create a safer environment for sport and recreation.
