Funding for Individuals

The Sport and Recreation Branch does not provide funding directly to individual athletes/clubs & teams.

If you wish to receive funding to support your athletic endeavours, contact your provincial sport organization information on how to pursue this.

Rather, the Ministry supports partner agencies and organizations which disperse funds. These include:

Provides assistance to athletes striving to represent British Columbia and Canada at national and international games and championships. Available through provincial sport organizations and post-secondary institutions. Your Provincial Sport Organization (PSO) can provide information on how to obtain funding. See Sport BC for a full list of organizations.

This Sport BC program provides assistance ($150 to $200 in grants) to families of children in need to help kids participate in local activities they otherwise could not afford to participate in. For information about how to apply, see the KidSport™ section of the Sport BC website
