2011 Western Canada Summer Games

Kamloops, British Columbia will be hosting the 2011 Western Canada Summer Games - a quadrennial multi-sport games that brings together about 2,500 athletes, coaches, officials and performers from the four western provinces and three northern territories to celebrate achievement in sport and culture.

Kamloops will benefit from sport, community and economic development legacies locally and provincially - such as an estimated $10 million regional economic impact, skilled volunteers, new and/or refurbished equipment and facilities as well as legacy funding for new sport and community programs.

Next up on the national multi-Games bid calendar will be the 2013 Canada Summer Games (to be held in Quebec) and the 2015 Canada Winter Games (to be held in BC). Communities across British Columbia will be invited to bid on the 2015 Canada Winter Games hosting opportunity in 2009.
