2011 Western Canada Summer Games
Kamloops, British Columbia will be hosting the 2011 Western
Canada Summer Games - a quadrennial multi-sport
games that brings together about 2,500 athletes,
coaches, officials and performers from the four
western provinces and three northern territories
to celebrate achievement in sport and culture.
Kamloops will benefit from sport,
community and economic development legacies
locally and provincially - such as an
estimated $10 million regional economic impact,
skilled volunteers, new and/or refurbished
equipment and facilities as well as legacy
funding for new sport and community programs.
Next up on the national multi-Games bid calendar
will be the 2013 Canada Summer Games (to be held in
Quebec) and the 2015 Canada Winter Games (to be held
in BC). Communities across British Columbia will be
invited to bid on the 2015 Canada Winter Games
hosting opportunity in 2009.
